Thankful Tuesday..Our Good Earth

Today I'm am thankful for our Earth. Tomorrow is Earth Day (not last Sunday, as I've heard a few on TV say).. I am really thankful for all the good things this earth provides for me and all of mankind and I really pray that we will all be good stewards of this precious land.

I love the beauty of our Earth, especially our country. When I see photo's of other parts of the world I do realize that we have it all right here. From mountains, to oceans, deserts, wild open places, crowded cities, pictureques fishing villiages, western ranches, Southern Mansions and everything in between.

I also appreciate what our earth gives to us... Fresh water, power, food, air.. For about a century, we forgot that we needed to take care of it, but hopefully now we are getting back on track.

I also love that I live in a part of this country where we have 4 distinct seasons.

Spring is like a new awaking every year, and even though it's bittersweet to me, it's also gives me hope

Summer is my absolute favorite season of the year. It just rarely can get too hot for me and if it is, we have AC :) I love being able to just go out and feel comfortable. I don't even mind the bugs :)

I think Autumn is the most beautiful time of year and next to summer my favorite, because it usually stays nice till November here and it starts getting cool at nights. And I love the autumn colors. I'd have my whole house those colors year round if I could. The only thing I don't like is I know winter will arrive.I hate winter with a passion. Well mostly I hate it when I'm sick all winter. I use to get so much done in the winter but those days are gone. I grew up where we had green year round but the temperatures are more extreme here and it's just gray. I love to look at the snow and I love to see the kids play in it but mostly it's just icy and windy and nasty here. Just have to look forward to SPRING!

So today, I'm thankful for our good earth and all it gives to us. Tomorrow is also the 16th anniversary of my mother's death and today is Daniel and Katherines 8th wedding anniversary! The good always outweighs the bad~
